We're looking for experienced and enthusiastic Floor Managers to join the team at University of Wolverhampton at The Halls. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where you'll play a key part in delivering outstanding bar operations and unforgettable guest experiences across live events.

As Floor Manager, you'll ensure the smooth running of bars and front of house areas, leading from the front, supporting your teams, and maintaining the highest operational and service standards. You'll also take ownership of stock management, compliance, and readiness for every event.

What You'll Do

Team Leadership & Customer Experience

  • upervise and motivate team leaders and front of house staff to deliver a Best-in-Class service
  • Brief teams at the start and end of every shift to ensure clarity, focus and engagement
  • Allocate tasks across the floor and support staff throughout the shift to maintain speed of service and presentation
  • Lead by example to ensure every guest receives a consistently excellent experience

Staff Planning & Shift Management

  • Support the Front of House manager F&B with the scheduling of staff using RotaOne, ensuring all roles are fully covered for every event
  • Manage bar opening and closing procedures, ensuring smooth handovers and staff are signed out on time
  • Prepare bars and front of house areas ready for the next event

Bar Operations & Standards

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health & safety at all times
  • Ensure all bars, cellars, and back-of-house areas are kept clean, organised and fully compliant
  • Carry out regular cleaning of beer lines, ice machines and equipment, reporting any faults or issues promptly

Stock Control & Compliance

  • Monitor and check deliveries to ensure stock is received accurately and in full
  • Maintain strict stock control, keeping accurate records of inventory
  • Lead and support regular stocktakes
  • Ensure till reconciliation procedures are followed correctly by all team members

 

What We're Looking For

  • Previous bar experience, ideally within a venue or live events environment
  • Experience supervising teams in a hospitality or bar setting
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent customer service skills, remaining calm and empathetic in high-pressure situations
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Computer literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • A flexible and committed attitude to working hours and events

Working hours: This is a shift-based role working evenings and weekends and the occasional day shift. You give your availability for the shifts you can work one month in advance. Once the monthly rota is confirmed you are expected to work those shifts. We ask that you are able to work regularly due to the nature of the role.

Where: You'll be based at the venue in Wolverhampton. You will need to be available to work evenings and weekends.
