Ready to take the lead on complex programmes that make a real impact?

Want to join one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work?

AXS are looking for a Lead Programme Manager to help deliver some of our most complex and important programmes, bringing together teams across technology, operations and the wider business.

This is a senior individual contributor role where you'll turn strategic priorities into clear plans, connect activity across multiple programmes and help ensure we're focused on the right outcomes. You'll work closely with senior leaders, providing clear insight into progress, risks and priorities, while helping teams navigate dependencies, competing demands and change.

If you enjoy making sense of complexity, bringing people together and finding practical ways to keep things moving, we'd love to hear from you. As you'll be working regularly with colleagues in the US, this role requires some flexibility around working hours, including a 2–3 hour daily overlap with Pacific and Mountain Time.

What You'll Be Doing

Programme Delivery

  • Lead complex, cross-functional programmes from planning through to launch, adoption and completion.
  • Turn strategic priorities into clear plans, roadmaps and measurable outcomes.

Priorities, Risks & Dependencies

  • Bring together priorities, resources and dependencies across multiple programmes and workstreams.
  • Identify risks and challenges early, developing practical solutions and recovery plans to keep delivery on track.

Governance & Insights

  • Develop effective programme governance, reporting and dashboards to provide a clear view of progress and performance.
  • Use programme data and business insight to highlight issues and help senior leaders make informed decisions.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships across technical, operational and commercial teams, as well as suppliers and external partners.
  • Influence priorities and decisions across the business, challenging constructively and bringing people together around shared outcomes.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve programme management standards, processes and ways of working.
  • Support and mentor programme and project management colleagues, sharing knowledge and best practice.

What We're Looking For

  • Significant experience managing complex, cross-functional programmes from planning through to completion.
  • Strong programme and project management knowledge, with experience adapting your approach to different programmes and business needs.
  • Experience turning strategic priorities into clear plans, priorities and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively through ambiguity, changing requirements and competing priorities.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders across technical, operational and commercial teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using programme data, KPIs and business insight to support decisions.
  • Excellent influencing and relationship-building skills, including the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Experience developing effective programme governance, reporting and ways of working.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting other programme and project management professionals.
