Want to work for a company named in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work?

Help us deliver unforgettable live experiences—safely.

At Watford Colosseum, we're looking for an experienced Fire & Building Safety Officer to help us deliver unforgettable shows while ensuring the highest standards of safety. This is a zero-hour role—ideal if you're looking for flexible work that makes full use of your qualifications and experience.

As the designated Fire Officer on duty, you'll be responsible for keeping audiences, artists, and staff safe during events. From pre-show checks to live monitoring and emergency response, you'll play a critical role in the smooth and secure running of our venue.

What you'll be doing:

  • Carrying out pre-event fire and safety checks (exits, signage, equipment, high-risk areas).
  • Ensuring crowd management and evacuation plans are in place and followed.
  • Acting as Fire Marshal on duty, monitoring risks during shows, and responding when required.
  • Supporting the Duty Manager, security, and medical teams to ensure a safe environment for all.
  • Recording incidents and feeding back on improvements.

 What We're Looking For

  • Essential: Fire Marshal training, IOSH Fire Safety for Managers, First Aid, and experience in venue or crowd safety.
  • Preferred: SIA Licence, evacuation chair training, and working knowledge of alarms, detection, and suppression systems.
  • Calm under pressure, decisive, and confident managing public safety in busy live environments.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and during major events.

Join us in writing the next chapter of Watford Colosseum's story. If you're ready to make your mark in live entertainment and work at a venue that will host tomorrow's legendary performances, we want to hear from you.
