As our Assistant Production Manager at AEG Presents' brand-new venue, Watford Colosseum, you'll be right at the heart of the action—supporting the Production Manager to deliver world-class events. From load-ins to load-outs, you'll oversee all the technical aspects of live shows, help manage our backstage operations, and ensure the venue is always show-ready, safe, and running smoothly.
Whether it's advancing shows on non-event days or jumping into technical roles during a gig, this is a hands-on opportunity to be part of an exciting new chapter in live entertainment.
What You'll Be Doing
Show Production & Technical Support
- Support (and step in for) the Production Manager in overseeing the technical delivery of all events from load-in to load-out
- Operate and maintain in-house technical equipment and venue fixtures
- Act as a key point of contact for all technical queries from incoming productions
- Ensure production elements like staging, seating, and barriers are set and cleared as per show advances
- Cover technical show positions as part of your regular duties
- Ensure all technical specs and event information are accurate, shared, and up to date
Venue Preparation & Maintenance
- Keep the stage and backstage areas clean, tidy and fully functional in line with Health & Safety guidelines
- Lead a preventative maintenance programme, booking suppliers and checking all venue technical equipment is in working order
- Regularly check and update the venue asset list
- Maintain a safe working environment at all times, taking immediate action where needed
Event Coordination & Compliance
- Advance shows with incoming production teams and attend safety briefings with promoter reps and tour managers
- Book riggers, crew, seating teams, and additional equipment as needed
- Manage on-site activity to ensure events run on time and comply with licensing and venue policies
- Coordinate technical logistics, ensuring minimal noise disruption during load-outs and readiness for the next event
What We're Looking For
- Experience in a technical production role within music, theatre or live events
- Sound knowledge of lighting, sound, video, SFX, staging, rigging, and health & safety practices
- Ability to manage production budgets and costs
- Strong understanding of power distribution and venue infrastructure
- Familiarity with industry suppliers and contacts
- Excellent IT skills – confident using MS Office, especially Word, Excel and Outlook
- A committed, flexible team player who thrives in fast-paced live environments
