How we Recruit at AEG

What makes us stand out from the crowd is that our people are at the heart of our business. Attracting and retaining the best of the best is what makes us successful. We are committed to an effective, fair, transparent recruitment process that provides equal opportunities to all.

Applying for roles at AEG

All of our vacancies are advertised on our careers site, as well as LinkedIn, diverse job boards and specialist music and event job boards. We also work with local councils to ensure we hire people from our communities.

Once you’ve found a role at AEG you want to apply for, please make sure you read the advert and job description carefully and ensure you meet the requirements of the role.

Creating an account is simple and only takes a minute. Please remember to verify your email address, as this is how we will communicate with you throughout the recruitment process.

Once you have set up an account you will then be able to complete an application form for your chosen role.

You will be asked to upload your CV. Here are some hints and tips you may find useful

  • Keep it simple, concise, easy to read and focused on selling your skills. It should look professional and clear and be completely accurate.
  • Presentation and order are important so that we can absorb key points. A human reviews all CV’s and applications.
  • Think about tailoring your CV for specific roles, if you have a diverse work history or varied skills.
  • Add in key achievements and if you can put a number to it. In your last role did you increase sales by 20%? Did you save £xx by changing a way of working? Showing your accomplishments brings your CV to life.

We don’t accept covering letters, so please do not upload one. There are sections in the application form (see below) where you can talk about your skills and experience, why you are applying etc. If you have a covering letter, then you might be able to use what’s in it to answer the application questions below.

Application questions

We have 3 questions we ask. This is your opportunity to show us your personality and why you’re the best person for the job.

Why do you want to work here?

Do some research about us and let us know what it is about AEG that makes you want to work here.

What key Skills and Behaviours can you bring to the role?

Review the job description (you will have access to this in your recruitment account) and then pick out the key skills of the role that match the skills you have.

Which of our values means the most to you and why?

Our values are important to us. We want to make sure you they align with your values too. You can remind yourself of our Values here: https://aegeurope.com/about-us/vision-values/

AI in Applications

Please note we do NOT use AI to review candidate’s applications. A human is reading your application form and CV. Therefore, we want to see your personality shine through, as well as the key skills and experience the role requires.

Please click the button below to read about what use of AI we feel is acceptable in your application form.

Timeline for initial response

You will get an email shortly after submitting your application to say we have received it.

We then normally notify all candidates about next steps within a week of the advert closing.

Please make sure you add our email address to your email address book so that our emails don’t end up in your spam folder.

Interview Stages

Office based roles

These may vary according to the role but in general it will either be a one or two-stage process.

In the first stage we normally get to know you a bit more and review your experience and skills against the job description. There may be a task to complete for certain roles, but we will let you know when you are invited to book an interview.

At second stage, for certain roles, you may be required to create a presentation or task. Again, we will give you all the information you need beforehand.

When you have received an email inviting you to book an interview slot please log in to where you applied and select timeslot that suits you. These are given on a first come and first served basis, so make sure you log back in and choose a slot as soon as you can. If you cannot make any of the timeslots, please let us know.

Customer facing roles

Assessment Centres at AEG

If you have applied for one of our customer facing roles at our venues, and are successful in the shortlisting stage, you will be invited to an assessment centre.

These are group assessments where you will be given a team task to complete with your fellow candidates and then you will be interviewed. Our assessment centres normally last for around 2 hours and we are looking for great teamwork, communication and customer service skills.

It is also a great way for our candidates to get to know more about the role and the people they will be working with.

If you are invited to an assessment centre, you will need to log back into where you originally applied and select a timeslot that suits you. These are given on a first come and first served basis.

Unfortunately, our assessment centre dates are set in advance and we cannot change them, so if you are not able to attend please withdraw your application and re-apply when we next advertise the role.

If you ever change your mind about applying for one of our roles, or you get another offer and cannot now attend an interview or assessment centre, please do log back into the recruitment system and withdraw your application. That way we can invite other candidates on our waiting list.
