Want to shape sustainability at one of the most famous entertainment venues in the world?

Want to work for an employer named in The Sunday Times Best Places to work 2024?

At The O2, we don't just put on unforgettable shows—we're working hard to cut our environmental impact. As our new Waste & Recycling Manager, you'll play an important part in making sure our venue runs smoothly, sustainably, and responsibly.

This role is about combining your expertise in waste and recycling with your passion for making a difference. You'll be helping us find smarter, greener ways of working at a venue that welcomes millions of visitors each year.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage our waste, recycling, sanitary, and landscaping providers, making sure services run to the highest standard.
  • Support local sustainability projects, track data, and help spot new opportunities to reduce our footprint.
  • Oversee budgets, contracts, and procurement to make sure we're getting the best value.
  • Keep us compliant with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Work closely with the Facilities Director on planning, risk management, and day-to-day operations.
  • See your impact first-hand—whether that's reducing food waste after a sell-out concert or improving how we recycle thousands of cups every night.

What we're looking for

  • Experience managing waste and recycling providers in a large or complex environment.
  • Knowledge of contracts, cost control, compliance, and risk management.
  • Experience with tenders and supplier negotiations.
  • IOSH certification.
  • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends when the venue is at its busiest.

This is no ordinary facilities role. It's a chance to be part of a Best Place to Work 2024, to contribute to meaningful sustainability initiatives, and to make your mark on one of the busiest, most exciting entertainment venues in the world.
